The special “MegaVideo“® architecture for image processing performs over 80 billion calculations per second and permits encoding in H.264. The new H.264 compression standard is up to 25 times more efficient than the M-JPEG standard. As a result, the network bandwidth used is reduced considerably and the recording time prolonged by the same factor. The large CMOS sensor is particularly light-sensitive. The cameras offer high resolution as well as crystal-clear images and can replace a large number of PAL cameras – with optimum resolution and signifi cantly lower costs. No additional power supply unit is required if the camera is supplied via the Ethernet cable (power over Ethernet). Any picture detail can be digitally zoomed and displayed both in live and archive images. With their accuracy of detail, they are especially suited for the surveillance of very large areas (shops, service stations, schools, offices and banks). The cameras can also be used outdoors with the appropriate weatherproof housings. All H.264 cameras in this series are suitable for night operation (IR light) and fitted with a swivel-type IR cut fi lter.
